1. This Form is PG13
Any online forum has a wide range of visitors and members, each varying with age and maturity. Because of this, the Pokemon Virtual League will be kept under a PG13 system. This is so people of a younger age or maturity wont become upset by what they see in these forums. That means that you should avoid a list of things while Posting on this Forum.
The following things to avoid include, but are not limited to:
* Excessive Swearing – Limit the number of Curse words you use.
* Sexual Content – Do NOT post ANYTHING sexual on these forums.
* Discrimination – Do NOT Harass someone because of Religion, Gender, Race, etc.
* Illegal Drug Reference – Do NOT Post anything related to Illegal Drugs.
2. Respect Each Other
Respect others is you want to be respected. Other users on this forum deserve just as much respect as the staff. Each of you is a person, and although you might not see the other person and it is easy to forget you are talking to another human at the other end of the computer screen. Keep that in mind when you are speaking to people on the internet. A general good rule of thumb while talking is to treat people the way you would want to be treated. Another rule of thumb is that if you cant say something in a nice way, than you're better off saying nothing at all.
We don't expect you to like everyone here, but we at least expect you to tolerate them, and if you don't like a user or a staff member, then you don't have to interact with them. Just be kind and considerate while posting on the forums. Just remember that you aren't the only human alive while your on the internet, and that you are most likely not talking to a computer. No Flaming and No Harassment while on these forums.
3. Respect the Admins
Now, while the staff might not be infallible, they are a staff member for a reason. Please do mind that you should respect them and their choices. That means, if they tell you that what you are doing is wrong and you should stop, that probably means that you should stop what you are doing. The staff knows what they are doing and what their job is, and are only looking out for the best interest of yourself, the community, and the forum as a whole. Do not make their job any harder by arguing with them over trivial matters and respect their decision. If you feel you have been unjustly punished, please contact a different staff member with your problem, instead of harassing the same Admin, or posting your problem on the forums for everyone to see.
4. Do Not Spam
Making a post in a board that has no relevance to a specific topic is generally considered spam. We wish to keep this forum looking as professional and clean while also enjoying ourselves on this forum. We prefer to keep 'spam' relatively low. That means that if you don't have anything to add to the conversation, then it would be best if you don't say it. Be sure to do your best to keep on topic of the thread you are posting on. If you don't, it is considered not relevant to the thread and therefore spam.
If the thread is closed, or already deleted by a member of the staff, do not post it again. It was closed for a reason, and reopening it is not only spam, but a blatant disregard for the staff, posting two strikes against you because of it. Doing so will probably get you warned by the staff, an if the discussion is not dropped, it could result in getting banned. You may Private message one of the staff if you feel your post has been wrongly locked or deleted, but do not continue if we do not agree with you.
The following things to avoid Spamming include, but are not limited to:
* Necroposting – Posting on a thread that has long sense been dead. (2-3 weeks of inactivity).
* Double/Triple Posting – Posting twice or three times in a row without someone posting before you.
* Format Spamming – A Post that is filled with CAPS, Bold, Underlined, or Italisized.
5. Personal Safety
Never give out personal information about yourself or anyone else while you are online. We also expect that you do not ask others for their personal information. Anyone caught asking will be warned and banned if the problem continues. We do not condone the exchange of personal information. It is a very dangerous thing to do and we will not be held liable for any damages that may occur from any exchange of information that happens on our site. JUST DON'T DO IT!
6. Know the Admins
While it is universal for the forum, each section has their own protocal that is an addition to the rules. Mods and Admins control this site, and do their best to keep it running as smoothly and swiftly as possible. Respect them, and do not argue with them, as it only makes their jobs more difficult. While they are not always correct, they know what they are doing and do it so that you can enjoy yourself on these forums. If you feel that there is corruptness, or unfair treatment and you have substantial proof, then bring it to an administrator and they will further the investigation, dealing with it according. Please look to the thread "Current List of Forum Staff" to see who are the current staff working on these forums.
7. False Reports
Do not falsely send reports to the Admin or Staff of these forums about trivial matters. If it is something that can easily be handled without mod help, it is encouraged that you do. Staff of these forums are here to cause the forums to run as swiftly and smoothly as possible, and wasting their times with false reports only slow them down in what they are trying to do. Repeated false reports will get your account warned, and eventually banned. A general rule of them here is, if you can discus and handle it without moderator help, or if it has already been handled, don't report it and try and settle it without there help. If things get out of hand, then you may ask for mod help.
8. Language
In all public areas of the forum the language you are required to speak is English. Our moderating staff cannot possibly know every language, and as such, cannot moderate any messages in languages they do not understand, to prevent harassment out of the moderators control, all other languages are only to be used in PM's. We are sorry for the inconvenience this might cause some people while on these forums.
9. Account Responsibility
The owner of the account is at all times responsible of anything that occurs on his/her account. Hackers, little brothers, cats, or mysterious glitches are no excuse. If something happens that your account gets hacked, or something happens, and your account gets banned, that is your own personal problem and cannot be handled by the Staff of this site. Just make sure you are safe with your account information.
